Two key associates of conman Jadeja arrested

Two key associates of conman Ashok Jadeja, involved in duping people of crores of rupees in the name of God, were on Wednesday arrested from Ghuma village on the outskirts of the city, police said.
Chandan Soneji and Kesha Nehal who were coming from Rajasthan were intercepted near the village, following a tip off, and cash amounting to Rs 8 lakh was recovered from them, they said . CID (crime) investigating the case said Soneji was a cashier of the group while Nehal was one of the agents who had the responsibility of collecting money from people.
"Soneji used to keep account of the cash collected from various agents and used to issue receipts to people. We have recovered Rs 8 lakh cash from them and seized their car," Investigating Officer R K Patel told mediapersons.

He said that adding the cash seized from Soneji and Nehal, police have recovered Rs 86 lakh, which include Rs 78 lakh from two land brokers in the city.
"Jadeja had given Rs One crore to one Kalpesh Patel for buying land in Kelia Vasna village near Dholka town. We have recovered Rs 75 lakh from Kalpesh and Rs three lakh from other land broker," Patel said.
